Sometimes in life everything just catches up with you, hence my lack of postings this month.
I really wanted to look into the trends coming up and give you a proper break down of what is in and what is out, I guess that never happened and neither did my post about my fabulous date with my Mum & little Sister at London Fashion Weekend, so in short it was fantastic. We left home nice and early so we could get there and make sure we get to go round the whole of Somerset House, as we got to our destination approximately 30 minutes later, we saw loads of fashionable women parading around with their instantly recognizable handbags and Louboutins and of course there were those who tried hard to look fashionable and still failed. But I will not be evil in this post, as some people are just not able to dress themselves well, but at least they try, unlike those who go out of their way to ensure they look like tramps without making an effort what so ever. Have they never heard of the phrase ''Dress to Impress'', having said that even if you got it don't flaunt it. The scene around Somerset House was extremely fashionable, with people just having a day out our fashion students and journalist around taking pictures of anything and everything. It was quite the scene, my scene to be honest. I absolutely love going to fashion events, exhibitions and trade shows and just simply looking at what they have to offer. I could also people watch all day. So as we entered there was an Elle stand that I promised my self that I would go back to and buy myself a magazine subscription at just slightly over £20 which I did. Let's be honest with ourselves LFWE is all about finding bargains which we did at the Juicy Couture area, which was completly and utterly bombarded with handbags. shoes, jewelery and other accessories, all for a remarkably small price in comparison to the RRP. So my sister took advantage of that as a 14 year old obsessed with anything Juicy to add to her fast growing collection. The shoes were all amazingly beautiful and not a penny over £50, I wish I could have bought them all, but to my dismay there were all in UK sizes 3/4 as they were all samples and no two shoes were the same. My sister got lucky and got some flat sandals bejeweled with swarovski's on the top of the shoe and heel. Jealous!! I tried on as many pairs of shoes as I could that looked that they would fit my size 6 feet in but not luck, but then I just about managed to squeeze my feet in to a pair of snake print open toe wedges with the aid of my tights. ;) Whilst around the Juicy Couture department within the premises a women was muttering to no one in particular ''I wish I brought my mother along with me, she could have bought me stuff'' I just looked at her and started laughing telling her that ''I brought mine with me just to buy me stuff'' she smiled and told me ''You're a clever girl aren't you''. That officially made my day.Over all the day was good and many bargains were found for all three of us. Which we ended with a meal at one of our favorite eateries on Edgware Road before our train journey home.
I was a very happy girl indeed.
Since then I have been drowning my self in book after book after journal after journal. I have two dissertations (projects) to complete, one for fashion and the other for retail. Along with several other multi thousand word reports, presentations and exams.
The fashion project is titled...
'Fashion enthusiasts perceptions in the technological changes in communicating fashion online'.
The retail project is titled...
'Explore to what extent do impulse purchases satisfy immediate benefits'.
(If anyone is a impulsive fashion shopper and interested in keeping a diary for a short duration, let me know by commenting below and i'll give you more details).
So lot's and lot's of primary and secondary research awaits me.
Life is not fun at the moment, and my social life is next to none.
The only fun I've had in a while is going to my little nieces 5th birthday party at the weekend, were I got to spend time with my cousins and plan a potential holiday for the summer. Let's hope it happens. I also went out to Nando's mid week for a friends 21st birthday meal which was peri peri nice. LoL. Followed by a visit to my uncles house who just spent a few nights in hospital, he's completely fine by the way nothing to worry about.
Tomorrow I think my aunt and cousin are planning on coming down from Leicester to shop in our famous streets of London, as shopping anywhere else in the country just doesn't match up to what is available here So maybe a little much deserved retail therapy session is awaiting tomorrow.
I would just like to take a second to wish all those on their final year and those below completing assignments etc Good Luck! You deserve it. Just keep going as in the end it'll all be worth it (So I keep telling myself). Those that are simply enjoying the simple life or working hard, continue to do so...
Until next time peace out...
XOXO
