Shades On Toes Out!

So it's been a little whilse since I last updated. the reason being 'swamped' litterally with uni work. I've had to write two literature reviews, do two presentations and also alot of group work. So basically i've been a normal third year student.

This week the weather has been fantastic reaching upto 21 degrees. People are already taking off all their clothes. But me i prefer to just get my toes out in my super comfy Timberland sandals, that I bought last summer for my holiday in December, and whilst in India I practically wore them every single day every opportunity I got as they were actually like cushions for feet. I absolutly love them. I even managed to convince my Mum to get a pair of Tims for walking in.

I also like to have my shades on. Something I refuse to leave my house without is my sunglasses, I like to wear them all the time. I would wear them in winter if I could get away with it without looking crazy. The blackness helps protect my eyes and also give off that classy look, they also match everything unlike coloured shades. If I didn't have such a small face that big shades practically covered completly I would wear the Chanel's with 18 Oyster pearls, but instead I have a pair of irreplacable versaces. Litterally till death do as apart!

Enjoy the Sun, it will only last so long here in England.

Getting Old!!

So today is the day that I was born decades ago, 21 years ago to be precise!

Let's hope the weather stays true to the forecast and we don't get any rain, as we all know what the British weather can be like, as I will be having a BBQ with my nearest and dearest.

Spring's Retail Therapy!

As I mentioned in a previous post my Aunt and Cousin came down for the weekend and all we did was shopped till we dropped and that is literally. Over the course of the weekend i bought three blouses and two skirts all perfect for a fabulous Spring's day. I also bought two dresses, one of which is very dressy ideal for an evening dinner and the other perfect for a day out in the sun, so again fabulous for Spring regarded that the weather stays as wonderful as it has over the last couple of days. I could defiantly get used to keeping my coats and dulls in the closet until Autumn. two seasons away.

One can only hope.

XOXO

Ps. I changed the title to yellow as I'm in a good mood because the sun is out and it's Spring and I have over all been having a good. Even if I was awake till 5am and waking up at 9am.

Dream Dior Dresses!

Miley Cyrus in Zuhair Murad at the Oscars 09

Christian Dior 'Junon' Dress 1949

Dior SS'10

Every girl dreams about wearing the perfect dress. But what exactly would you call perfect? Well in my opinion, it would have to be a dress that would completely flatter ones body exposing just the right amount of curvy-ness and skin. Christian Dior and John Galliano, who both are unfortunately no longer with the house of Dior have both designed many many absolutely breath taking dresses, which no girl in their right mind would deny the chance of wearing from amongst the haute couture collections.

My ultimate dream dress however is designed by Zuhair Murad showcased in January 2009, which was later worn by Disney star Miley Cyrus at the Oscar's. None the less this dress created a big frenzy in the fashion world as it is almost a replica of Christian Dior's iconic Junon dress. I still prefer Murad's interpretation of the dress as I like the extra detailing above the waist. Which just over all gives the dress a little something more. John Galliano also re created the Junon dress for the Spring Summer 10' Christian Dior couture collection, all shown in the images above.

Below are a few other beautiful Dior dresses that one can only dream about...

Aren't they all just absolutely breath takingly stunning. Dior's couture collection is always so fresh and inspirational. It is my goal in life one day be able to afford such a piece.

Birthday Times!

As I mentioned in my previous post I've already been to two birthday celebrations this month. The month of March is filled with Birthday of many members of my extended family, as well as mine at the end of the month. This year I will be turning the big 2 1. Am I excited... No! Simply because I want to stay young forever. But of course that can't be done. Although I'm looking forward to a celebratory dinner with family and friends, not sure where yet, but I did say I would like to go somewhere you can go dressed up, as I feel obliged to make use of my several new dresses purchased over the months just waiting to be worn. I also have no idea what I would like for my birthday my sister and cousin have been pestering me for days. I feel as if I have everything important and what I need, it also doesn't help that I have extremely expensive taste. The only thing I think is missing in my life are a pair of Louboutins Decollete 100 pumps. If someone got me those my life would be complete. Even though I could just go out and buy a pair I yet haven't done so cause I think they are the perfect pair of work shoes. So unless someone loves me so much and buys them for me I will wait and buy them for myself when I get my first ever job. So if i ever want them I need to get a move on on the job front, as for far for almost 21 years of my life I have been unsuccessful.

Let's hope this new year will be a start of a new me...

Happy Birthday to all who are born in the fabulous month of March.

XOXO

Life!

Sometimes in life everything just catches up with you, hence my lack of postings this month.

I really wanted to look into the trends coming up and give you a proper break down of what is in and what is out, I guess that never happened and neither did my post about my fabulous date with my Mum & little Sister at London Fashion Weekend, so in short it was fantastic. We left home nice and early so we could get there and make sure we get to go round the whole of Somerset House, as we got to our destination approximately 30 minutes later, we saw loads of fashionable women parading around with their instantly recognizable handbags and Louboutins and of course there were those who tried hard to look fashionable and still failed. But I will not be evil in this post, as some people are just not able to dress themselves well, but at least they try, unlike those who go out of their way to ensure they look like tramps without making an effort what so ever. Have they never heard of the phrase ''Dress to Impress'', having said that even if you got it don't flaunt it. The scene around Somerset House was extremely fashionable, with people just having a day out our fashion students and journalist around taking pictures of anything and everything. It was quite the scene, my scene to be honest. I absolutely love going to fashion events, exhibitions and trade shows and just simply looking at what they have to offer. I could also people watch all day. So as we entered there was an Elle stand that I promised my self that I would go back to and buy myself a magazine subscription at just slightly over £20 which I did. Let's be honest with ourselves LFWE is all about finding bargains which we did at the Juicy Couture area, which was completly and utterly bombarded with handbags. shoes, jewelery and other accessories, all for a remarkably small price in comparison to the RRP. So my sister took advantage of that as a 14 year old obsessed with anything Juicy to add to her fast growing collection. The shoes were all amazingly beautiful and not a penny over £50, I wish I could have bought them all, but to my dismay there were all in UK sizes 3/4 as they were all samples and no two shoes were the same. My sister got lucky and got some flat sandals bejeweled with swarovski's on the top of the shoe and heel. Jealous!! I tried on as many pairs of shoes as I could that looked that they would fit my size 6 feet in but not luck, but then I just about managed to squeeze my feet in to a pair of snake print open toe wedges with the aid of my tights. ;) Whilst around the Juicy Couture department within the premises a women was muttering to no one in particular ''I wish I brought my mother along with me, she could have bought me stuff'' I just looked at her and started laughing telling her that ''I brought mine with me just to buy me stuff'' she smiled and told me ''You're a clever girl aren't you''. That officially made my day.Over all the day was good and many bargains were found for all three of us. Which we ended with a meal at one of our favorite eateries on Edgware Road before our train journey home.

I was a very happy girl indeed.

Since then I have been drowning my self in book after book after journal after journal. I have two dissertations (projects) to complete, one for fashion and the other for retail. Along with several other multi thousand word reports, presentations and exams.

The fashion project is titled...
'Fashion enthusiasts perceptions in the technological changes in communicating fashion online'.

The retail project is titled...
'Explore to what extent do impulse purchases satisfy immediate benefits'.

(If anyone is a impulsive fashion shopper and interested in keeping a diary for a short duration, let me know by commenting below and i'll give you more details).

So lot's and lot's of primary and secondary research awaits me.

Life is not fun at the moment, and my social life is next to none.

The only fun I've had in a while is going to my little nieces 5th birthday party at the weekend, were I got to spend time with my cousins and plan a potential holiday for the summer. Let's hope it happens. I also went out to Nando's mid week for a friends 21st birthday meal which was peri peri nice. LoL. Followed by a visit to my uncles house who just spent a few nights in hospital, he's completely fine by the way nothing to worry about.

Tomorrow I think my aunt and cousin are planning on coming down from Leicester to shop in our famous streets of London, as shopping anywhere else in the country just doesn't match up to what is available here So maybe a little much deserved retail therapy session is awaiting tomorrow.

I would just like to take a second to wish all those on their final year and those below completing assignments etc Good Luck! You deserve it. Just keep going as in the end it'll all be worth it (So I keep telling myself). Those that are simply enjoying the simple life or working hard, continue to do so...

Until next time peace out...

XOXO
